By Louis Sachar.
Stanley Yelnats is under a curse. A curse that began with his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather and has since followed generations of Yelnatses. Now Stanley has been unjustly sent to a boys’ detention center, Camp Green Lake, where the boys build character by spending all day, every day digging holes exactly five feet wide and five feet deep. It doesn’t take long for Stanley to realize there’s more than character improvement going on at Camp Green Lake. The boys are digging holes because the warden is looking for something. But what could be buried under a dried-up lake? Stanley tries to dig up the truth in this inventive and darkly humorous tale of crime and punishment—and redemption.

Join The Fabulous Armadillos for Acoust-i-Dillos 3!
This theme has become so popular with audiences, The Dillos are bringing it back for a third time and they have a whole new crop of songs to add to the list! They aren’t going unplugged, but will be playing songs whose foundations were built from acoustic guitars.
Groups like America, Eagles, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Crosby, Stills, Nash And Young, Heart, Kansas, Boston, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd all had great songs that were based on the acoustic guitar. Several artists like Jim Croce, Gordon Lightfoot, Simon and Garfunkel, John Denver, and James Taylor all made their mark with songs written around the acoustic guitar as well.
The Fabulous Armadillos came out of their shell in 2006 and have since established a large and loyal following in Minnesota and beyond with their spot on recreations of songs from many genres of music from Country to Motown to Heavy Metal to 70's Soft Rock and play them just like you remember.

Gooseberry Summer Park Concert featuring Kicks Band of Fargo Moorhead
Date: 17 July 2025
Time: 07:00pm
In addition to performing throughout the year – including free summer concerts and a jazz festival in the park – the Kicks Band is dedicated to jazz arts education. That’s why they started offering High School Artist Residencies in 2014 to high schools around the region and organize the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo All-City High School Jazz Band Festival. The Residencies include small group master classes and side-by-side playing with the Kicks Band musicians, while the Festival allows each city’s high schools to show off their musical talent.
Founded in 1975 by Edward Christianson, the organization was created so that musicians could enjoy music socializing, playing great big band literature and improvising jazz. They met on a Saturday morning, once a month – just for “kicks.” Since 2014, the Band’s focus has shifted towards performance and jazz arts education. Today the 17-member band roster includes professional musicians and music educators, all dedicated to performing and performing America’s original art form, jazz.
