Experience an electrifying evening of jazz, Western swing, and singer-songwriter brilliance with Rue & Sabien — a duo whose musical chemistry spans decades and genres.

Gary Rue, guitarist, pianist, vocalist, and composer, has penned songs recorded by artists like Helen Reddy, Nick Lowe, and Prudence Johnson, and was inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame in 2010.

“…these [Gary Rue] songs are a clear cut above the usual…each one features at least one major-league moment, phrase or hook…” — Minneapolis Star Tribune

Randy Sabien, master of violin, guitar, mando, piano, and vocals, is a jazz virtuoso in the Stéphane Grappelli tradition, blending hot club, blues, and Western swing into a sound all his own.

“Rather than simply embellish a tune, [Sabien] re-conceives it, building and developing intriguing new musical motifs along the way…his playing couldn’t help but bring a smile to virtually every face in the room.” — The Chicago Tribune

Expect a high-energy, improvisational performance full of melodic surprises, witty commentary, and virtuoso interplay across piano, guitar, violin, mando, and soaring vocals. From classic Western swing and jazz standards to original compositions, Rue & Sabien deliver a night that’s both musically sophisticated and joyfully playful.
