Becoming a Writer Workshop (2-Day)

Are you interested in recording your life experiences for later generations? Have you considered submitting information to a professional journal? Would you like to do some creative writing?

During part 1 of this 2-part class, Vernal Lind will share his experiences of becoming an author of eight historical fiction novels and many published inspirational and factual articles. He will entertain questions about your interest in various types of writing and give you "prompts" to get your creative juices flowing.
The second class will feature sharing examples of participants' writings and facilitate further related discussion. Vernal has been a teacher of the English language for many years and has a respected following. He is sure to bring out your inner author!

Students should bring a notebook & pen/pencil.

Hardanger for Beginners and Refreshers

Hardanger is a Norwegian embroidery cutwork and is a form of counted thread embroidery

It's done on an even weave fabric, usually in white. The thread used is DMC pearl cotton, using 2 to 3 thread sizes. Participants will finish a project over the course of 1-2 classes. The first being Monday morning, May 11, 9 AM - noon. The 2nd session is on Tuesday morning, May 12, 9 AM - noon.

In this two-part class, we will first make a clay figure from a model on Friday, June 26, 2026. Mary will then fire your figure and on Friday, July 31, we will paint & finish it. Both parts of this class will meet at Mary's studio on Stewart Lake near Clitherall. Ages 16+

Finger-Knitting a Throw Blanket

September is that time of the year for cozy things! Come and join Heidi Hull as she teaches you how to "finger" knit a beautiful throw blanket to cuddle during the cool autumn evenings. This is a 2-part class. We will spend the first part of the class learning how to start the first row and continue to knit the following rows. You will take home your materials and continue to knit the blanket to size, then during the second part of the class 2 weeks later, Heidi will show you how to finish the throw.
