Live Sound Basics – Fergus Falls

Learn the basics of setting up and running live sound in this hands-on workshop from Springboard for the Arts. Designed for musicians, artists, performers, and anyone who works with audio at events, Live Sound Basics will introduce participants to the practical skills needed to make live events sound their best.

The workshop will cover setting up a PA system, audio signal flow and mixing basics, safety considerations, and troubleshooting common sound problems such as feedback. No technical background is required.

The workshop will be led by Colin Loynachan (he/him), a production manager and front-of-house engineer who has worked with national touring acts including Soul Asylum, The Jayhawks, and Gear Daddies. When not touring, he works as an audio engineer at Minneapolis music venues including The Armory, Uptown Theater, and Parkway Theater.
