The Anderson Center: 2026 Early Career Artist Residency Program

The Early Career Artist Residency Program is an opportunity in September 2026 for early-career artists living within the state of Minnesota or one of the five boroughs of New York City in need of focused time and dedicated space in an inspiring residency work environment that empowers them take risks, embrace challenges, and utilize unconventional approaches to problem-solving.

Thanks to support from the Jerome Foundation, a month-long cohort of five artists will each receive a $625/week stipend, a travel honorarium, documentation support, and more. Application deadline is 12 p.m. Noon (Central Standard Time) on Jan. 13, 2026.  Selected artists, wait-list, and runners-up will be notified by March 3, 2026.

The Anderson Center: 2026 Artist Residency Program

The Anderson Center at Tower View's Artist Residency Program an opportunity in June, July, August and October 2026 for early career, mid-career, and established artists working across all disciplines and based anywhere in the world. The program is interdisciplinary, and the organization welcomes applications from a wide range of creative and intellectual genres, including those that don't fit neatly into one category.

Selected artists receive live/work space, fellowship & exchange within a 5-artist cohort, chef-prepared meals, and more. Application deadline is 12 p.m. Noon, Central Standard Time on Jan. 13, 2026. The selected artists, wait-list, and runners-up will be notified by March 3, 2026. There is only one application deadline for open 2026 residency spots.

The Anderson Center: 2026 Deaf Artists Residency Program

Anderson Center’s Deaf Artists Residency (DAR) is an opportunity in 2026 for five Deaf artists based in the United States of America to come together in an ASL-centric environment to create, communicate and exchange ideas for one month.

The program was created in 2014 to enact the vision of a Deaf visual artist, Cynthia Weitzel, who designed and coordinates the program. The panelists who select residents are all accomplished Deaf Artists, some of which are also past residents.

Thanks to support from funders & sponsors, selected artists receive a $1,400 stipend for the month, reimbursement of up to $600 in travel costs, live/work space, chef-prepared communal dinners & more. Applications will open in the fall of 2025

Minnesota Family Artist Residency

Residency dates: July 13-19, 2026

This week-long residency for Minnesota parent-artists offers the opportunity for single parent artists and artists who wish to bring their spouse/partner and 1-2 children. The residency enables these artists to focus on their work while the child/ren enjoy age-appropriate, supervised activities onsite and in town. Daytime youth activities are supervised by a childcare professional for a portion of the days. Lodging provided. 

This residency is open to artists who:

  • Identify as a parent artist

  • Reside in the state of Minnesota

  • Have children between the ages of 6-13

Application deadline is December 31st, 2025, at 5:00pm CST.

Announcements will be made by March 31st, 2026.

Residency dates: July 4-10, 2026
This week-long residency provides space for 6 artist educators to center themselves and their work as artists first and get the well-deserved rest and rejuvenation they need. The residency balances personal work time with community interaction and optional sharing of work and process - all in support of each artist’s goals, needs and interests.

The Art of Fire: Artistic Journeys in Forest Stewardship and Fire Residency

Residency dates: September 9-15, 2026

In collaboration with area partners we are excited to host this inaugural themed residency for six artists working in any discipline. The week is structured to balance individual creative work and exploration into fields of fire and fire ecology. Experts in historical fire regimes, indigenous practices and other pertinent fields will provide educational opportunities.  Artists will participate in a combination of small group interactive indoor and outdoor classroom experiences, paired with immersive field trips exploring classroom concepts.

This residency is open to artists who reside in Minnesota and are over the age of 18.

Application deadline is December 31st, 2025, 5:00pm CST.
