Pat Donohue and Friends is a dynamic musical presentation featuring Grammy Award-winning acoustic fingerstyle guitarist Pat Donohue. As the longtime guitarist for the “Guys All-Star Shoe Band” on Minnesota Public Radio’s A Prairie Home Companion, Pat showcased his savvy licks and distinctive original songs to millions of listeners each week for 25 years.
Joining Pat for this show are three exceptional “Friends,” each with impressive musical résumés. PK Mayo, a Minnesota Blues, Rock, and Country Hall of Fame inductee, brings distinctive vocals, guitar, and slide guitar work that make for an electrifying blend with Pat’s intricate style.
Also featured is Richard Kriehn on mandolin, a fellow alumnus of the All-Star Shoe Band. Richard’s extensive career includes numerous appearances on the Grand Ole Opry and tours with country stars Travis Tritt and Aaron Tippin.
Rounding out the ensemble is John Wright on bass—a longtime fixture on the Minnesota music scene and the frontman for bands such as Galactic Cowboy Orchestra and Lehto & Wright. Together, these accomplished musicians create a unique and compelling interplay—an engaging blend of talent, chemistry, and musical storytelling that truly makes Pat Donohue and Friends greater than the sum of its parts.
