Intro to Snow Dyeing with Itajime Shibori

Put that snow to good use by snow dyeing a beautiful scarf for yourself and bandana for the family pet using Itajime Shibori techniques. Itajime Shibori is a Japanese resist-dyeing process that uses wooden blocks to clamp folded fabric. The blocks act as a physical barrier, preventing the dye from penetrating the areas they cover, resulting in a pattern formed by the dyed areas around the resists. Each student will leave with a beautifully dyed rayon scarf and cotton bandana.
