Playwrights’ Center — Core Writer Program
Applications now open
The Core Writer Program is a three-year appointment (July 1, 2026–June 30, 2029) supporting 25–30 professional playwrights nationwide with time, resources, and development opportunities. Core Writers receive paid workshops with directors, actors, and dramaturgs, travel and housing (if not local), and eligibility for Playwrights’ Center public readings and festivals.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be 18+, reside and have legal right to work in the U.S., and be pursuing playwriting as their primary career. Students in full-time education are not eligible. At least one Minnesota playwright is selected each year.
