Intro to Oil Pastels with Stephen Henning
Join us on November 8th, 2025 at the PRCA gallery from Noon to 3 p.m. for a special workshop on Oil Pastels with Stephen Henning.
Henning has been creating with oil pastels since 2005. He was granted signature status in the (now defunct) Oil Pastel Society, and two of his works were juried into the American Impressionist Society's National Exhibitions in 2008 and 2009. Henning will share his approach to color and technique in capturing the landscape. Henning likes to help artists gain a clearer focus on their subject, and has valuable insights to share on seeing color, reflections, and more.
Stephen is an accomplished landscape artist. He started working as a professional painter in 1995, and today his original paintings and oil pastels have been sold to collectors in all 50 states, and on three continents. Reproductions of his work are also sold globally. His originals have been juried into several regional and national exhibitions. He was founder of Evansville Arts Coalition, and is an active member of Art of the Lakes Association (Battle Lake, MN) and the American Impressionist Society.
