All That I Was, I Carried Like a Candle: Echoes of History, the Sounds of Survival—performed by Richard Tostenson
Sunday, November 16, 2pm
Richard Tostenson, classical pianist and faculty member at MacPhail Center for Music, will be giving a concert featuring pieces written by Shostakovich and Weinberg.
"All That I Was, I Carried Like a Candle: Echoes of History, the Sounds of Survival" challenges you to be present in the music - fragile, courageous sounds that rose out of Soviet and Nazi surveillance, fear and wartime that encompassed the lives of these two composers.
A powerful concert performed by a master pianist.
