Many Voices Mentorship
Supports Minnesota-based Black, Indigenous, and artists of color who are new to playwriting and show strong artistic potential.
Mentorship Term: July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027
Award Includes:
$2,000 stipend
$850 for project development
$3,000+ in free services, including classes, seminars, a staged reading, and a 2-year Playwrights’ Center membership
Affiliation as a Playwrights' Center writer after the term
Eligibility
Must be 18+ and a Minnesota resident at application time, maintaining residency within 75 miles of the Twin Cities during the mentorship.
Must have no fully produced professional plays prior to the deadline.
Students in K–12 are not eligible; college students may apply.
Not eligible: current/past Core Writers, other PWC fellowship recipients, staff/board (and immediate family) of PWC or the Jerome Foundation.
Applicants may receive up to two Many Voices Mentorships (must submit a new writing sample when reapplying).
