HCSCC presents History Hustle 5k

October 25, 2025
Starts at 8:30am

We are excited to announce the return of the History Hustle 5K Fundraiser on October 25, 2025, starting at 8:30am at the Hjemkomst Center.  The course begins at the Hjemkomst Center, then follows the river to Homestead Park, and concludes back at the Hjemkomst Center. This exciting event offers a unique opportunity for community members to come together in support of local history and culture while enjoying a fun and active morning.

Participants will receive complimentary admission to the museum, an exclusive event t-shirt, and a beautifully handcrafted medal, among many other surprises. This 5K is designed to be enjoyable for everyone, whether you're a seasoned runner or simply looking for a fun way to support a good cause. We are also encouraging participants to wear costumes of their favorite historical figures! Prizes will be awarded for best costume and other categories at 10am on the day of the race.

Check-in and walk up registration will be available from 7am to 8:15am and the 5k itself will begin at 8:30am. We also encourage families to join in. Registration for this event is $40 for adults, $25 for children age 4 through 12, and free for children under 4. All participants 4 and older will receive a t-shirt. Strollers and pets are welcomed, but we ask that participants be mindful of others. Pets are required to be on a leash at all time.

In addition to the race, attendees will have the chance to tour the historic Bergquist Cabin, providing a glimpse into the area's rich heritage. This event is an excellent way for families, friends, and individuals to engage with the HCSCC and learn more about the cultural and historical fabric of Clay County.

*Tickets are non-refundable after purchase, even in the event of weather cancellation. Participants will receive t-shirt and medal if event is cancelled.
