Katelyn Haugdahl is a filmmaker with a concentration on producing and directing. Her work focuses on adolescence, ideals, and nostalgia through the female perspective, often with a humorous angle. Community and the identity of oneself within a larger group is a common theme in her projects, and as a reflection of this, approximately half of the short films she’s directed have been filmed in the rural neighborhood she grew up in.
She earned her BFA in filmmaking at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Her work has been selected as a finalist for competitions such as the national Women Stand Up and Shoot Competition. Her films have been distributed regionally, as well as through film festivals, such as the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Film Festival. Haugdahl also is the creator of a sketch comedy group titled The Team Presents, whose sketches have been distributed online via MPLS.TV, with selected works displayed at the art collective Meow Wolf in New Mexico.
