Pioneer Public Television continues to reach out from our new studio in Granite Falls by sponsoring special events with community based partners throughout the region. The festival will feature artist demonstrations, Scandinavian music, treats and showings of Pioneer’s new Scandinavian folk art documentaries at the Andria Theatre. Acclaimed rosemaling artist Karen Jenson will be the honored guest of the festival which will encourage meandering from shop to shop and visits to the Runestone Museum.

The schedule of events includes:

1-8 p.m.: Scandinavian treats, Runestone readings, folk art vendors and special discount shopping in downtown Alexandria.

5:00 p.m.: Folk music of Scandinavia by Paul Wilson and Mary Abendroth at the Andria Theatre.

5:30 p.m.: Scandinavian folk art documentaries at the Andria Theatre.

6:30 p.m.: An interview with Karen Jenson at the Garden Bar.

7:30 p.m.: Sami-inspired bracelet making class observation at the Runestone Museum.
