Our September program will be in Farwell on the 11th of the month @ 9:30 AM. Farwell is approximately 20 miles from Alexandria. Meet at the Norwegian Lutheran Church (look for the steeple) just a block off main street. Bring a bag lunch. The church has a refrigerator in the kitchen where you can store your lunch (please put your name on your bag lunch).
We will be PLEIN AIR painting in the MEDIUM OF YOUR CHOICE. Eileen Putman will do a watercolor demo at approximately 10:00 AM. There is great subject matter here with the beautiful renovated church, little old school house, filling station and a grain elevator. It is best to find a spot in the shade and where the sun gives great shadows on your subject. IN THE EVENT OF RAIN, WE CAN PAINT INSIDE THE CHURCH OR SCHOOL HOUSE.
THINGS TO BRING: Your supplies, an easel if possible, lawn chair, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, bottle of water, your lunch and a camera or I-pad. Don't forget your sketching pencil and eraser.
You will be amazed at the renovation of the church, country school and filling station. Renovation was done by Ted Irgens who grew up in Alexandria. Our own Gloria Pfeifer worked with Ted as an advisor on color and design as well as a painter, refinisher and stenciler in the church. Be prepared to stand in awe of their joint effort. Won't want to miss this opportunity!!
Hope to see you there rain or shine.....Eileen Putman (320) 763-4363
