Instructor: Amanda Heidt

Drypoint is considered a non-toxic method in the intaglio family of printmaking. An image is created by incising lines into a "matrix" (copper or plexiglass plate) with a hard-pointed "needle" of sharp metal or diamond point.

Participants will be guided through creating an image directly on a sheet of plexi glass or copper. Lines, textures, tones, and color are built up, then transferred onto paper using a press.

Students will learn the basics of image building, wiping and printing the plates, as well as experimental techniques. Beginners and experienced artists are welcome.
